Cant get out of park

So when i put my car (2012 Nissan Sentra) i cant get get out of the park gear.
i hit the brakes like im going to change gears but it just wont budge into any
other gear

If you are on an incline, the shift lever may lock up. Check your owners manual for a release mechanism. Or have someone push the car in the opposite direction of the incline and try to get it out of park. Hope this is helpful.
