Steering wheel locked up while driving and no acceleration

2012 Chevy captiva steering wheel locks up during
curves and it loses all acceleration  turn it off and
back on and it's fine till you game another turn
what could it be?

You might have a problem with a power steering pump seizing up and bogging down the motor. Then again the steering locking up and loss of acceleration may not be related, you may have multiple problems, but there's no way of knowing until you get it to a mechanic for an inspection. If you can't drive it safely get it towed. Loss of steering can easily put you in an accident.

So what was the final verdict? My daughter called me tonight and said this happened to her. She almost hit another vehicle head on, thankfully the other car was took the ditch. I’ve never heard of these symptoms simultaneously. I thought she was exaggerating until I read this. Now I’m concerned.... very concerned.
