Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello,  i have a 2012 chevy captiva. Last night
slowing down for a stop sign i heard a loud pop
like a tire blew . I pulled into a parking space to
check but all tires fine. Theres a strong smell like
burnt rubber maybe?. And now when i try to  move
out the space,  I'm able to switch gears, the car will
move but the pop sound comes and the car jerks. I
cannot drive it out the space. It sounds like
something really bad is happening.  Any ideas? I
have very little knowledge of cars.

Front wheels each have one and it goes from wheel to transmission. Look under front and see if it is hanging or bent.

Not sure what I'm looking for but i will try. Last night it was dark and raining so I couldn't see anything. Thank you

There are rubber boots that look like accordions behind each wheel. Turn the front wheels full left or right and look for the boots to see if they are cracked or greasy. I would agree it is likely a C/V joint busted.
