Floor board wet on driver side under gas pedal

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
There is a leak in my 2014 Cadillac SRX on driver’s
side floor board under the gas pedal. This all started
after car wash and heavy rain. Do not have a sun
roof. So where is the water coming from? Is it a
possibility that I will have same issue with
passenger side later? What does something like this
cost to repair at dealership?

Slow to get a reply means the experts are sleeping so I'll take a shot at it. On the outside of your car, just under the windshield there is like an air vent that water normally enters at times. This outside duct also brings fresh air into the A/C heater system. It can handle both air and water, but in a car wash or a downpour, too much water at one time will spill over into the passenger floor boards. This can be worse if the outside water drains are plugged with leaves and debris. Take a garden hose and a coat hanger, look under the car while on a ramp and see if you can flush out that clog. To help you find the drain, pour water down the windshield and see if any trickle comes out underneath. This happens to any car parked outside a lot under trees. Nothing serious, just an inconvenience at times.
I am experiencing same issue...wet on DRIVERS SIDE floor board. I am looking for a solution...I sfm going to clear the air vent/ duct.... but will that do it?
Answer refers to water on the passenger side but the question is referencing the driver's side which is my issue with my SRX 2012. Could the solution given correct the issue on drivers side leak?
This is in reference to the cost of water removal from floors of car. I had an SRX2011 I went through the water issue but I have a sunroof. I went to a local tint sunroof place that vacuumed out the water out of the whole car it cost $500. I am sure the dealership will charge a lot more. Anyone that details cars can probably do this. I would just call around for the best price.
