Extra rubber tube in Subaru Outback found after change the battery

Triple A helped me changed battery last Friday,
but after finish he said there’s an extra piece in
my car he doesn’t know where it came from, it
makes me so worry , can anybody help me
identify what is this rubber tube for ?
