flashing engine light on 2015 jetta?

the last 2 days while driving in traffic, when pressing on the gas its like my car
cant/doesnt accelerate and then the engine light is flashing for a few seconds
then disappears and drives normally again. looking for any help with what could
be wrong. its a used car but havent had any other issues with it until now.
