not sure which year spectra you have. i know mine will only come on when someone is in the passenger seat. that way if there is no passenger there it doesn't waste the bag deployment for someone who is not there.

they all come on when someone sits in the seat. sensor in the seat is known to go bad and can only be fixed by replcing the seat or finding a machanic that can ove ride the sensor meaning it will always be on.
