sharp openings in top of trunk

Are there some type of covers for the 8 openings in the top of the trunk for the
Ford Fusion hybrid? These are very sharp and has caused a deep hand cut to
require stitches. You can still see the blood.This obviously will happen again
and cannot believe the design. I need assistance in covers.

I have been thinking the same thing. I wish they had some rubber gasket like coverings to fit over the edges. This is like having a cheese slicer in the trunk. Not safe at all.
The sister car Lincoln MKZ has a cover, at least the 13-16, so it should fit the Fusion, not sure if it will fit a 17-20. I cut myself on these as well on in my 18' Fusion, so I will find out it the cover works. I am a DIY'er so I will probably source one from a salvage yard and see if it fits. If it does I will reply here for any other people like me doing web searches.
