2004 the driver seat wont move forward or back ward but makes a loud noise as if it is functioning, it makes this noise upon entering and exiting the car as the function is automatic

2004 model town car drivers seat will not move forward or backward it makes a loud sound upon entering and exiting the vehicle because the functioning is suppose to be an automatic retraction, however it will not function using the manual button either, it just continues to make an annoying loud noise like the motor is functioning, is there a simple solution to the problem

Any way you look at it your going to have to pull the seat out. I'm hopeful that it's just something jammed in the track. The good news is that the motors to the seat and the power to them are still there. That will save you a lot of time and money.
