2000 TC drivers seat just clicks when attempting to move it forward or back. Is it the motor or a switch?

The gear assembly is housed in a plastic case where the case halfs are secured together by screws and nuts every couple of inches. Poor engineering placed one of the spaces in a high stress area that should have had a screw and nut. I've seen several and could not find a kit to repair it. I had to just replace the complete seat as I could not find any one who would tear down the seat and replace just the gear assembly. Simply a ford design problem!
