Power sliding door operation

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just bought a 2005 Mazda MPV.  Owners manual says the power sliding doors will open OR CLOSE by pulling the outside door handle.  This works to open a closed door, but doesn't when trying to close an open door.  Have to use the inside switch instead.  Both doors operate like this.  Is the manual right or wrong?

Possible there is a switch or wiring issue here. Manual should be correct.

actually in the newer MPV's sometimes if you take the door panel off there is a connector that is not plugged in, if you plug that in it normally fixes it Thanks for playing
