First off, I let my goofy brother hook up my battery and he put the terminals on backwards and tried to start it. In addition, I had to change many blown fuses. the alternator and battery are both new, however, the batt. light is still on and the alternator is not charging battery. could the pcm be bad, it don't seem likely to me seeing how everything else in the truck works ??

Yes, you may have fried your PCM but if the car is running and showing you the electrical system is not charging, I would look elsewhere. Double check belt tension, wiring to the new alternator, and wiring to the new battery first. Maybe something was not tightened down. If not those things, start with the alternator and have it tested even if it is new.
