It would be nice to know what year your Mini is. However, the lights stay on to allow you to exit the vehicle. They will shut off automatically after 15 seconds or less.

It is an 05, I see now. Check out what I said, and just call a Dealer's service department. Just ask them. I am not familiar with the 05 iteration as much as I am the newer ones. Is it an S or Base?

I have the same issue and the trunk has nothing to do with ALL the dash lights being left on even after removing the key and locking the doors.

Any insight on this? Our mileage and odometer light will not turn off when we turn off the car and drains the battery.

I have on 07 convertible. Have this issue. I think I fried my BC1 unit. Added a new stereo, and didn’t use all weather crimps. They cracked, and caused a short, I replaced them. Noticed right after putting the stereo back in. The instrument panels stayed lit. Replacing my BC1 this weekend. If you pull the F21 fuse when you park for the night it will keep from draining the battery. I’ve been pulling the fuse for a year lol. Just now forced to replace the BC1, because I’m selling. Hope this helps. Also 05 have notorious for water getting in. Maybe pull the BC1, and see if it’s wet or corroded.
