I have a 94 Lexus es 300 that has a knocking noise and is using a lot of water can that knpcking noise be the water pump

I doubt it, a knock usually is a rod bearing. Sounds like head gasket leaked and coolant got into the oil wiping out the bearings. That could be were the coolant went. Check the oil, it would be over full.
