2002 oldsmobile Alero security light

When I go to start my car I have to turn the ignition
to the start position wait for the beeping to stop
before turning it over. If I dont I can't start it for ten
minutes. What is that about and how can I fix it?

It's best to start by getting the trouble codes read. But the most common failure is the sensor in the lock cylinder case. You replace the entire case...can't buy just the sensor. If this is a security system problem let your local GM Dealer fix it. There's not much a do it yourselfer can do. Hope that helps! Jim

Nope. Someone has a GPS installed on that particular vehicle and you were stuck with it! It was a 3rd party GPS for a rental or dealer car or whatever the case may be. That’s what they do. It’s not anything to do with the OEM security system of the Alero. It may be aftermarket incorporated, but wasn’t there off the line. Can’t believe no one could call this, smh.
