How do you adjust the headlights

If the headlights are adjustable, there will be visible screws or plastic gears on the headlight assembly or near it. Many of the newer cars have headlights which are not adjustable.

I have a 2002 Pontiac Aztek. My drivers side headlight was out of adjustment - pointing up into oncoming traffic. I took out the headlight bezel which is held in with only a plastic clip. After examining it, I found an adjustment screw for the beam height. You need a torx head socket (I don't remember the size, probably a T25). With the headlight bezel back in the car, looking from above, down at the headlight, just inside the engine compartment, you can see a hole next to the plastic headlight clip (the one you lift up to remove the headlight bezel). At the bottom of the hole (about 5 inches down) is a torx head nut. By turning the nut, you can lift the beam up or down. Did that last night, and now I have a beam on the ground so that I can see what's in front of me instead of the faces of the people in the oncoming cars. Hope that helps.
