The 2004 and the 2005 are both seventh generation (2004–2008). The engine should drop in. Check with other owners on the forums to see if there are any details that might be a problem. -- http://www.grandprixforums.net/ --- http://www.clubgp.com/newforum/default.asp? cookieCheck=840780044 --
it depends on if its gt, gtp, gxp, all have different sized motors and gtp and gxp have superchargers. same size motor AKA 3.8L will swap out. u will have to reprogram the censors as well. but you can do that pretty easy
If its an SE, GT1, or GT2 the engine will be a standard 3.8 and should drop in no issues. Theres a small chance youd have to program the pcm but just use the one from the donor car. The GTP is obviously the supercharged one, it will take a few here and there parts but nothing all too extensive. Then you have the GXP which is NOT supercharged. its a 5.3L V-8 that i wouldnt waste any time on.
Will 2005 3800 series 3 grand prix motor work in 2006 3800 series 3
