Pontiac Grand Am 2000 6cylinder, Overheats SEVERELY.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Before i drive it i check my coolant its all the way full, usually gone within an hour
of driving. Cannot find any leaks but there is usually a puddle right underneath the
coolant container. Any help? Also the fan doesnt turn on when overheating unless
i turn on the A/C, Could that have something to do with it as well?

Yes the fan should come on when engine starts to over heat. Could be a relay or temp sensor issue. Have you checked you oil? Does it look like a milkshake? Are you sure all the air is out of the cooling system? Pressure test the cooling system. This will make it leak while engine is cold so you can find it. These cars are known for head gasket issues so use caution to not overheat it. If you do or have already might end up needing head gaskets replaced.
