I have a 1998 pontiac gt it runs great it dont miss
or nuthing . I have a problem with it drinking gas
you can watch the hand sink while driving down
the road it is a 3.1 engin any one have a clue to my
problem we have checked for leaks and cant find
any

Mine always got 20-29 mpg. Top up your tank and drive it until you have used about a half a tank, that would be about seven gallons. Seven gallons should get you 140-210 miles. So divide your miles by the gallons used and that would be your MPG. I hope this helps.

Yes the check engine light is on . We put a tester on it it showed a misfire but the car does not miss it runs great just cant keep gas in it

Get the miss-fire fixed and fuel mileage will improve. I think you are over thinking this issue.
