my pontiac grand prix stoppedon the freeway and wont start i get a click and it wont turn over

i was on the freeway and put on my  braked behind another car and my 1998 grand prix stopped and would'nt turn on i get a click when I start it snd it will not turn over......please help!!! what iswrong with it?
