My 2001car Pontiac grand prix is making a very loud clacking noise when i start the car and continues to do it
when i accelerate. What could this be. I already tried changing the oil.

if the car has timing chains they might be bad enough that the chain is lose and hitting something. same thing happend on my intrepid and then noise went away. could be something else tho look on grand prix forums.

tell me do u have a gtp cause if you do its probly the eaton super charger many people have this problem it has to do with the supercharger bearings and the superchargers coupler its fairly easy to reaplace look at zzperformance.com and look under supercharger parts they will have everything there :) good luck
