Why would my 2004 Subaru make a loud noise when I accelerate?

My 2004 Subaru has 66K miles on it.  When I drove it yesterday, it made a loud noise every time I had my foot on the accelerator.  What could this be?

what kind of noise (scrubbing, whining, grinding)

might be your exhaust manafold gasket blown. or just all that raw horsepower.
