Where can i buy a STI v6 or 7 engine to put into this beasty...i need to do a swap NOW

Well firstly, it all depends on what year your looking for for this engine. One place to try indefinitely would be a dealer, it may be a little pricier than you are trying to spend, but you know you'll get the quality other than going to an after-market retailer even though they may be "performance" engines. But if you want to go the other route a good place for something like that would be ebay motors.

try some scrap yards. the dealer will rape you up the ass.... you'd probably be looking around the area of 7-8 grand for a new engine from the dealer. instead, save yourself some cash, find a used engine, and with the money you saved, rebuild it, and it wil be good as new.
oh and by the way, they dont have V6's. they have H4's. basicaly its like a V4, but instead of your normal 30* engines and what not, its instead a 180* flat engine. out of the boxer i believe.

If you don't have much experience in the aftermarket performance sector then its time to do some homework. JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) is your three letter acronym to success. There are many parts retailers dedicated to importing low-mileage performance motors from Japan. Most popular are Honda, Toyota, Nissan and yes, Subaru. Easiest way is to pick up a phone book and look up parts retailers that specialize in JDM engines/imports. As far as gaining the knowledge to even know what you're looking for, join a Subaru dedicated forum. The first thing any body claims to want to do is motor swap their econo-box.. well, with a bit of knowledge and some idea of others projects with your same platform you may find building your current motor can save you the hassle and the money of a full motor swap. And seriously.. Subaru is known for the H4 (horizontal 4 banger).. V6 STI? Learn what is under your hood.
the common misconception it seems about this V6 but what that means is Version 6 everyone on i-club (a subaru enthusiasts forum) the STI version 6 and 7 and 8 XD go by the models not a 6 valve engine hahaha nooooo
My best advice would be to find a used STi engine in a scrapyard.I don't know where you live but if it's in Canada or the US, US-spec STi's had the 2.5L mill the same as your 2.5RS.The only difference resides in the cams, ECU tuning and turbo equipment.It's the same block. Getting a STi Version VI or VII engine from a JDM STi is gonna be both more difficult and more expensive.Moreover, you will only get a 2.0L engine and it won't pass emissions.Also, from the turbo back the exhaust won't fit.You would need to get a complete front clip for a correct swap and I frankly don't see the advantage of doing this. The STi has been around in North America for quite a while now so it should be easier to find a 2.5L STi engine in local scrapyard then import a 2.0L from Japan. Then again it all depends on what you want to do with your car.If you're after the JDM style then yes a 2.0L from Japan would be cool.Note though, that it will only be cool.There's almost no difference in output between the 2.0 and 2.5 engines. And if tuning the shit out of it is your goal then there is no replacement for displacement.Go for the 2.5L. P.S: If you happen to speak french then go to My Garage as I have done exactly what you are trying to do a couple of years ago.Let's just say it didn't exactly go as planned.
I just wanted to let you know that just because it's a swap it doesn't mean you won't pass emmisions I have a JDM SR20DE in my car and I don't have a problem getting it to pass. Also not to get off Subject I have seen many a Swapped Impreza go through emmisions it depends on the quality of the swap. If you have a non professional do it who knows ....
Well here in the Québec province it wouldn't pass.The only exception being if the car and the engine are more than 15 years old.So say you have a 1989 240SX and want to put an SR20DET into it as long as the engine is before or from 1993 then you won't need to pass an emissions test to have your car licensed.I'm not familiar with how it works outside of Québec by I was under the impression that emissions tests were more stringent in the US.
im totally just put an ls7 motor swapped from a 4g63 k20 motor in my del sol with a b20 rear end mixed with a twin carbd differintial.
