Water pump/ timing belt

Asked by Babyblue66441 Jun 21, 2018 at 01:12 PM about the 1998 Subaru Forester

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1998 suburu forester and my water pump
went out I am being told that the timing belt should
also be done at the same time is that correct?

Yes that is correct. I would also replace the idler wheels at the same time. The cost for a full kit with water pump is maybe $150 on Amazon. No additional labor if you do it all at once.
