Can I put 15" rims on my 95 Tacoma which has 14" stock?

Question type: Car Customization

I'd like to put 15" rims on because I can get 6 ply tires for them (I drive allot of
unpaved rough roads), and for my current 14" rims the highest they make is 4
ply. Would there be any problem with doing that, and does anyone have
experience with that?

It has a 5 lug pattern. I've heard that if you put bigger rims on that you have to have a shorter side wall so the overall tire size is the same. Is that true or can the tires + wheels be 1 to 2" bigger than stock?
