Car not strarting

Car wouldn't start I was told to turn the key three
times them start it and it turned right on but now it
won't turn on at all

I turned the key three times but not all the way and then it started right up now it just makes a clicking sound

Well if you are stuck in a parking lot, why would you turn it off? Why did you not get somewhere?

starter could be bad maybe . Or try turning your engine on by hand .
