I have a 2006 silverado crewcab. oil pressure gauge pegs out at idle then drops to red after about 2500 rpms. is it pump issues or just bad cluster?
Its full of oil and temp is normal.
Had this same problem with my 08 Suburban LTZ. Cold start it would run at about 10psi and would immediately begin to drift down to 0psi. Long story short, we dropped the front axle and oil pan( which takes half the time of pulling the oil pump) and replaced the worn oring in about 5 hours. Now cold start idle produces 60psi and the same pressure at highway speeds once warm.
Its full of oil and temp is normal.
