2007 chevy express 3500 wont go over 50 mph what may cause this

i have a 2007 chevy express 3500 duramax 59,000 miles box truck, when i
drive on the high way it wont go past 50 mph what may cause this problem and
when you scan it a lot of codes come up...need advice bc this is my first diesl
truck

Ok your in luck because I'm a diesel mechanic. Do you know codes? Majority of times the transmission get a signal from the engine by an output speed sensor. This sensor will cause trans to be limited, stays in one gear, activate check engine light.
