96 ck1500 Z71 chevy

My truck will crank on the first time but
turns right off and I have to crank it again
what could be causing this ?

It could be related to fuel. I would check the fuel pressure, it should be 56 to 63 lbs. You'd want to do a bleed down test also, so you could determine if it is the fuel pump or leaky fuel injectors, spider lines, and regulator.
