Engine Temperature Gauge

Asked by Rlh5988 Feb 20, 2020 at 06:40 PM about the 1995 Chevrolet C/K 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently had to replace my thermostat in my
1995 Chevrolet c1500 and now my temp
gauge is reading super low. Like maybe
140ish. The gauge is working cause it does
gradually get to 140 but it used to run about
200. I replaced the sensor on the side of the
engine but it didn’t fix the problem. Any
ideas? Thanks in advance

Most likely you were sold the wrong temperature thermostat. You need a 195 degree Fahrenheit thermostat. I'm sure other heat ranges are available for your truck but they are not correct. Hope that helps! Jim
