Will a 4L60E tran work in my 95 chevy with a v6vortec 150

Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the 4L60E transmission is the same one that came stock with that year truck. I also have a 95 w/V6, and from what I've learned, that you must ONLY replace it with another 4l60e from a 95 chevy truck, due to the wiring connection harnesses. The 95 year model was sorta the Beta version year of transitional changes. The 94 & 96 models are quite different, mechanically speaking.
