What is the most common front axle used in a 1991 chevy/gmc k3500 4wd?

I have a 1991 Chevy C3500 crew cab single wheel truck. I Want To Convert
this truck to 4wd. i have a 1985 k3500 as a donor truck it is a dully both have
350's motors .trans r autos, t case should b ok. i would like to find a front axle
4 a single wheel 4wd or would my 1985 front axle work? what about rims i
have been told spring widths r different n wont mount to my 91's frame

The 91 is a different body style that never had a solid front axle. No axle is going to bolt up, it's a custom job. You need to make sure the diff is on the same side your transfer case drops down. If you arnt familiar with citing and welding this isn't a job for you. It's 100% custom

Actually, the 91 crew cab 1 ton was the last year of the square body style for GM. The crew cabs, both 2wd, (classified as the R3500), and 4wd, (V3500), were carried over until 1991. 1/2 tons and 3/4 tons had the new body style.
