My dash lights will not consistently come on when I start my car.

Asked by Lucy Jan 07, 2017 at 10:38 AM about the 2004 Toyota Prius

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My  lights do not consistently come on
when I start my car and drive on an every
day basis I had my 12 V battery tested at
advanced auto they said it was fine and
the alternator is putting out enough power
for the battery and I also did the self
diagnostic check in my car and the battery
has enough vault so I'm wondering if the
combination meter is bad and if I need to
replace it?   Can anyone help me know if
it's the combination meter for certain?

Yes, it is. It seems to go on every Gen 2 Toyota Prius. I have replaced many of them already. There is a person in MN that repairs them, with a lifetime warranty.
