2002 toyota tundra V6

I wouldnt tow anything w\that many miles anymore,,,,but.....for gas mileage::::Castrol $9 qt,syntetic oil change,so that baby labors less,gapped spark plugs 1-2 higher than specs,for good starts,smear w/ vaseliene to keep drycl,mufflers up,clean airfilter,new fuel filter,injectors cleaned, gas mite be abt 10mpgs,,but thats good if you keep cool & safe!!

When it comes to the Chev, 200,000 miles can be a nothing, depending on how the truck has been used and how it has been maintained. City driving and poor maintenance would equal it being near the end of its useful life. Highway mileage and rigorous maintenance would equal it being fresh as a daisy. Either way, with the 6, it is not likely to have much of a tow rating above about 3,000 pounds. They Toyota will be about the same for rated capacity. Thing is, the Toyota, because it is a DOHC, 4 valve engine, likely has less torque, and higher in the rev band, than the Chev, so it is likely to use more fuel when towing. Personally, I would look for a G.M. truck with the displacement on demand system and the 5.3 liter V-8. A few upgrades from stock and you will have a vehicle that is more than capable of towing the trailer, and will give you significantly better mileage than either 6 cylinder.
