Can I reset Check Egine light in 97 Corolla with machanical odometer myself without the tester?

This is exactly an answer I wanted to avoid since it answers another question. My question said "myself".

The short answer to your question is that you can reset the light yourself by disconnecting the battery for @ 10-15 seconds and reconnecting it. If the problem is still there the next time the engine is started, however, the light will come back on. Hope this helps.
