I have a 79 caprice Classic that has not run for years, I am going to start working on it to get it to work. I am new to working on cars, where should I start?

Hmm, when you say "years".… how many years are you talking about?
Jared-. See this, even if you were talking about a full restoration, the money you would spend might not equal the total value? Also, a car's engine that has been sitting idle for 6 or even 7 years probably has internal rust and bad seals, not to mention the rest of the car. If it's just a weekend hobby, go for it, but , don't expect that you're going to be able to get your return of investment. I would just probably change the oil, get it fully lubricated, new battery and see if it will fire up.... I would not advise putting too much money into a car this old that gets lousy fuel efficiency. Also, if the body and interior is not pristine, I would skip it altogether. Good luck. http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1979/Chevrolet/Caprice- Classic/4-Door-Sedan/Values
