Near-mint condition 1970 Ford Thunderbird - mileage is 80,000 (give or take) and has been garaged for many years.

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

It belonged to my parents and seriously - was hardly ever driven.  It's not
mint: a fender was wrecked and replaced; my father rigged a bypass switch
for the AC compressor.  But other than that, the car is really in pretty
incredible condition.  Original paint, all original trim, parts, etc.  Drives like an
amazing just-off-the-showroom floor monster.  I have no idea what the car is
worth - and as my mother recently died, I'm trying to determine what to do
with the car.  Any help with pricing is REALLY appreciated -

Thanks very much for the prompt response, Tom - the car is currently in storage in a town a few hours from my home, but I'm going to try to shoot a few pics of it when I can. FWIW, the exterior and interior are both amazingly cherry: paint literally looks brand new - no oxidation whatsoever; the landau top is also - really: amazingly just like it rolled off the showroom floor. Again - thanks. I really appreciate your expertise.

Thank YOU, Tom - hadn't heard of Hemmings and will do so pronto! And yup - it really is pretty amazing. Interior is - again, straight off the showroom floor. No degradation at all of upholstery fabric or any of the interior materials. It was never allowed out in the sun - garaged perpetually aside from brief drives out to the store over the past 47 years. And the replaced fender (which occurred probably 35 years ago) was done beautifully - paint color was matched precisely and I can't even tell by looking or close inspection WHICH fender it was. Thanks again - and I'll check out Hemmings.com as per your suggestion.

You might want to check out your local bookstore and see if they carry "old cars price guide" magazine. This will also give you an idea of its worth.
