Power Troubles 2004 F150 4.6

My F150 will not keep a charge. If the truck sits for more than 10 hours it will not turn over, the keyless number code will not even unlock the door at times. The engine light has been on twice over the past 6 months, but goes away on it's own. I have checked the code before and it read "charging system."

Alternator is new, battery is new. Truck has 261,000 miles on it. Long story short, If I have to jump it off it takes 5-10 minutes for it to charge up to crank. I've been told I need to replace the battery cables, which I am not doubting what so ever. Another small problem I've noticed is my radio dash lights are very dim when my lights are not on. I wanted to reach out to see if anyone else had a suggestion as to what my issue could be? The truck has only had minor issues over the past 11 years I've had it: throttle body, A/C motor, rotors, etc... I've been blessed.
