Engine won't start unless I press accelerator, it's not getting fuel when I turn ignition. Once it starts it runs smoothly. Changed fuel filter and was thinking fuel pump. Not sure what to do.

i have an 88 f150 5.0 new high and low pressure fuel pump it doesnt like to start it cranks and cranks then finally starts it runs great after it starts i think im loseing fuel pressure when the motor 2 Answers

I have a 1977 ford f150 with a 351 engine in it. It dies sometimes and has trouble starting again, as if fuel isnt getting to the carborator. I have a 1989 F/150 302, I am not getting power to the High Pressure fuel pump, I am not sure about the low pressure pumps power, I just replaced the saddle in-tank pump to no avail, I did remove the high pressure pump amd confirmed that it was working with 12 volt battery, I am not sure where to go from here, the truck has set for years and was given to me, I really want to get it runnung, does anyone have the quick fix?
