To start my F-150 in cold weather, starting issues

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
When it is cold, my F-150 will not start unless we press on the gas. And we must hold
the pedal until the temp. comes up and then you can feel the gas pedal move and the
idle is then working. Also it will not idle high enough to try to drive it. The truck will
stall unless it is warm enough. Is there a sensor that, or a high idle switch that can be
at issue. Bottom line I understand we should not have to step on the gas to start the
truck. Right. No check engine light goes on. No way to put it on the computer. I am
told unless check engine light is on.

Clean the throttle body with throttle body cleaner ONLY. Also check the idle air control valve. It may not be working properly. Probably needs cleaning also.
Yes, it's called TPS (throttle positioning sensor) Replace it, it's located right on your throttle body, easy to replace.
I have a 99 f150 4.6 .....It will crank but not start when the temp gets cold.....I figured out that if I put a heat gun on the crank sensor it will start after a few minutes of heat....I replaced the crank sensor but it still will not start when it is too cold unless I put the heat on the crank sensor.....I would appreciate it if anyone knows what is going on here.
Dont feel like the long range. My truck would not run in 28 degree weather but the next day in the 40s cranked right up. My service engine light has been on since I bought it.
I am having the same issue with my sons 2009 F150 going on two months now. We have replaced the throttle sensor, throttle body and pedal and it still wont go in the cold but runs fine when it warms up. I just read about an issue with fuse #27 its a 20 amp fuse for the fuel pump and all 9 people on that forum said that was the issue and it fixed their trucks. the fuse is melted or burnt. Ford actually has a relocation kit for that fuse because the problem it is so bad. i will be going to look at ours first thing in the morning.

I have a two week old 2018 F150, I've had to boost the battery nine times. I've been to the dealer three days in a row, first they said it was the battery. Then they said it was a gps unit left in by another dealer. Now they tell me it's connected to the emergency brake. Some electrical component they have replaced due to a bulliten form Ford. Anyone have the same issue and any real ideas? Thank you
