Idling high

Asked by HavocJugdaddy502 Dec 11, 2018 at 05:04 PM about the 1998 Ford F-150

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 4.9 liter that idles fine when you first
start it but as soon as it warms up, it idles
way too high. I can't figure out where the
problem is. Can anyone help?

Do the easiest first. Clean the throttle body. I suggest yo do it by removing it. Use throttle body cleaner only. Before attempting, view a few videos on the net to show you how to do it properly. If you go to a place like autozone to pick up the can of cleaner, they will read the codes for free. Killing two birds with one four buck stone.
