I just bought a 1996 f150 and the exhaust is
cut off after the first cat will it pass an
emissions test in Ontario with the one or do
I have to put another one on

Ontario Canada or California? You will need both cats if it came with two. The inspectors perform a visual inspection and an emissions test.

Ontario Canada and so I will have to put an after market one on?

Just like Full_of_Regrets says, if it was manufactured with two then it will need two to pass emissions test.

If you have smog checks in Canada I would say yes. Smog systems must be complete.

In my opinion heres what you should do, since thay have started the new testing procedure that tests the computer system, thay are alot more laxed on the tailpipe emissions, most places dont even do the tail pipe anymore. If it were mine I would bring it in as it is and see where you stand, If it fails the numbers will let you know if you need the cat or not. and a retest is only 20.00 i think
