2004 buick lasabor won't start below 18 degrees

On Christmas my muffler blew up from
flooding I believe. Now I can't started after
replacing the muffler system in freezing
weather. Starts fine 20 degrees or above?
Idiot light is always been on for the last year
and I had a loose gas cap reading now
those are off since I replace the muffler but
like I said I can't start it in freezing weather?

Tom 1st. I have not changed any fluids in car except after the original muffler blew open with a loud explosive sound I put in new muffler system. After that it would not start and then I warmed the engine and brought it in for s new muffler system, then changed oil because it was contaminated from the flooding. 2nd persons answer. It wants to start it is almost started but it just won't. It reminds me of when we took the circle air filter off sprayed a touch of ether down carburetor to start it. It is so close to starting just won't go that last 1/2". I appreciate your help.
