Heating problems with my Town & Country van

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2006 Town & Country van with heat problems. Takes over 10 mintues for the heat to kick in. The temperature gage rises all the way to the top and then comes down when the heat finally kicks on. I replaced the thermostat with no luck. Any thoughts and how much it may cost to fix?

I would have your thermostat checked, based on your description it sounds like it needs to be replaced. Cost of thermostat is @ $10-$15 plus you will need a sealer for the gasket. About a 15 minute repair.
agreed... usually two bolts to get off, sometimes three maybe,, sometimes u have to move something out of the way...top radiator hose gets to engine .. put the thermostat in a pot of water, then boil it . wathch it open somewhere on it it will give a temp number... 190..or 200 or maybe 205..thats the temp it spozed to open. water boils at 212 degrees. check your new one same way...i once bought three bad ones in a row.... only way out was to boil it stranded at home almost a week ..... save your antifreeze, bad for environmnt, expensive too ,,,, just reuse..gooluk
Hi my 2006 town and country heat, is not working at all. You can hear when it comes On and cold air come out through the vents. The temperature shows up in in the normal position half way. But no heat is coming up. Hope some one can help me. Thanks
sounds like the valve ffor hot water to the heater is not opening
