2006 Dodge Ram 1500...for the last couple of weeks when I try to start my truck I have to tap the gear shifter up first. It starts right up after that. Today it wouldn't start at all. Any ideas?

Automatic or stickshift? going to suggest you look at the ground connection to the block (near the alternator)~ get a new battery if older than five~ these NO lead batteries aren't as hearty~

Check neutral safety switch.

I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 4.7 Sport. I recently put in a new/used motor because my old one had a bad crankshaft. So after getting new motor in I started the truck and it ran great. I only ran it for about 5 seconds because I noticed I had a broken transmission line. I went back the next day and fixed the line. I went to start the truck back up and nothing happened.
