What transmission do I have?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2L V8, automatic transmission. The shifter
has a 1st, 2nd, and Drive,  with an O/D on/off button on the end of the shifter.
The transmission pan has 14 bolts holding it on. Does anyone know which
transmission this is?

the 42RE transmission is used in the 4WD applications and the 46RE for 2WD applications

Wrong Bradley I have a 46re in me 98 ram 5.9 1500 4x4
