Question type: Maintenance & Repair

will a 2000 Ford Excursion with a 5.4 V8 work when switching out this engine?

Possibly but you should know that there are different versions of the Triton engines which means this might not be a bolt in swap.

Is there a site where I can type in the VIN numbers for both vehicles and see if they would be easy exchanges?

Not that I know of. I would identify the plant that each engine was built in. If they are both the same you are probably good to go but there may be sensor differences. Swapping engines these days is not like it was back in 1967!
