Engine swap

I have an 06 mazda tribute v6 3.0 ..replaced engine
with an 01 v6 3.0 from a ford escape made
necessary conversions it's sends a check engine
light but no code and will try to start but does not.

If you used the old engine with the new computer it probably will not run. To make this work you would need the old computer and wiring harness. When you are done your car will probably never pass smog inspection again.
