Is there a fix for ongoing problem of CEL and CCL?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
The CEL and flashing CCL come on when: driving the engine "faults" but keeps running; when the engine fails and stalls out. When starting the car sometimes I do not hear the clicks after the key is turned, then the system grinds but engine will not turn over.... the CEL and CCL come on, given time the engine (so far) will start. I need to trust my car and this is getting untrustworthy.

Your car is telling you something is wrong. The cruise control light is related to the check engine light, when the check engine light is tripped it disables cruise control. Use an OBD2 code reader to find out what the check engine code is, then you'll have more of a clue as to what could be wrong.

Have taken it to dealer - they did the code thing - said nothing showed up and indicated nothing is wrong with the car, however, it continues. Can deal with the light but not the "no start" situation.
So the CEL comes on when the car is started, or when you're trying to start it?
it always comes on when you turn the key to On when the car is not started. If it comes on when the car is running, that's a code that needs to be read. An AutoZone or even the dealership can read that for free.

Sometimes it comes on while running. Sometimes it comes on at startup. I'll check with AutoZone for a free read, the dealer charges. Most of the time it starts as it should. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to when it does one or the other.
I would suspect you need to clean your battery terminals and/or get a new battery if based on the starting issue, but definitely get the code checked first.
