well you either have 1 of 3 things poor air flow, poor fuel flow or poor spark. Start by cleaning your maf and checking for vacum leaks. If you are unsure a hose is broken just replace it. Use a bottle of soapy water and jsut spray the lines with a squirt bottle on mist. if you have not done a tune up in your vw in the last year or 2 do it now. thats plugs wires oil and air filters as well as fuel filter. Also when was the lat time this vehicle had the timing belt done ? the timing belt needs to be replaced once every 90000km including all the pulleys the water pump thermostat and belt tensioners. Its usually a good idea to do this with the serpentine belt at the same time.
